What if they knew?
That you are not what they thought you to be?
Your parents believe you are a hardworking student, and they keep on reminding your relatives to prepare to be in the entourage witnessing your graduation.
They just don’t know that you are the general of the notorious rats terrorising the suburbs of your campus with no hope of ever wearing the academic gown.
What if they knew?
That you are not what they thought you to be?
Your girlfriend thinks you are a gentleman well organised privily as you purport in public.
She doesn’t know that you are a pest and a crook when in your closet. Apart from your sensuous iniquities, you must be pushed around to make even your own bed!
What if they knew?
That you are not what they thought you to be?
Your boyfriend thinks you are a nice girl for he always calls you ‘good girl.’
He doesn’t know that apart from him, some young adults are calling you ‘darling’ and them you serve generously!
What if they knew?
That you are not what they thought you to be?
The unbelievers think you are a man of God, for they don’t see you joining them in their liquor saturated dens,
They don’t know about your voyeuristic doses that you attend to religiously like someone on antiretroviral drugs.
What if they knew?
That you are not what they thought you to be?
When they think about a mission-oriented person, they think of you, for you are always available for missions.
They don’t know that all these times you have been following your crush if perchance you can win them.
What if they knew?
That you are not what they thought you to be?
The world thinks that your altruistic ventures are motivated by your good heart.
What if they knew that you are just sanitising your corrupt deals by giving a few coins here and there?
We have acted what we are not and mistakenly made people respect us,
We have perfectly played a cast and got a standing ovation,
Nevertheless, we cannot fool all people all the time,
What will happen if they get to know that we have just been tares all along,
While they enlisted us with the good wheat?
“You can fool all the people some of the time and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time.”
—Abraham Lincoln (1858, Illinois)
A mind boggling read..

Here is where you employ the phrase that states,“ I wish the earth would split in half and swallow me whole…”
It is prudent to be your true self. But in this age, that is easier said than done

It’s time we need to be who God wants us to be and then those around us will enjoy and love who we are. Such a powerful and self examining message.

But what makes us act like that?and does this mean that we should flee from things that make us fake our reality? What if this things and people are so dear to us?Should we rather show our true selves to them and let them leave
