I’ve Seen Beautiful Things

šŸ’œ

I’ve seen beautiful things…
Or what do you call a multi-colored bow in the sky?
Beyond the refraction of light, I see the promise of God never to let us be wiped out by a marauding deluge.
In it the Love of God is legibly written as a perpetual reminder that our God delights not in the funeral of wicked persons, but that the wicked may say bye to hell and begin craving a life which measures with the life of God. It’s a rainbow of love.

I’ve seen beautiful thingsā€¦
Or what do you call it when a declaration, “till death do us part” is proclaimed?
It means that an almost withering shoulder will have someone to lean on it,
It means that love is awaken and tender emotions have been unfettered,
It means that henceforth, two strangers are going to share a last name. This is way more beautiful.

I’ve seen beautiful thingsā€¦
Or what do you call it when a father says “I’m sorry son, please forgive me?”
Average fathers can be remorseful, but will simply hush it away,
It is so attractive seeing fathers bearing the inconvenience of repentance,
Accepts they were wrong, and promises to do a little better next time.

I’ve seen beautiful thingsā€¦
Or what do you call it when a ruddy youth breaks loose from the snares of a coquette?
And this he does, not because the deal is not good enough, oh no!
But because he cannot and will not barter his fidelity to the One who holds the universe in His hands even if he was offered all that dazzles the eye.

I’ve seen beautiful thingsā€¦
Or what do you call it when a man weeps in public?
Crumbling down at the weight of emotions that he can neither assume nor pretend about,
Indeed the strongest man who ever lived, wept twice for a world bold in disobedience, filling her cup of iniquity, and hastening to meet her doom,
Will you let Him weep in vain?

I’ve seen beautiful thingsā€¦
Or what do you call it when men are committed to choose death before dishonor?
Convicted of truth, men and women have endured gibbet, stakes, privation and anathema so as to raise the banner of the Cross Higher and Higher,
But while the moral tone is sagging and righteousness is declared relative, will you let the world know that you are not almost persuaded that it is a fair deal, when sin is equated to death?

I’ve seen beautiful thingsā€¦
Or what do you call it when people take baby steps?
They do it a little better than the last time and before they realize, they are transformed into dependable men and women,
Not a moral invertebrate who keeps on vacillating between right and wrong, between truth and untruths.

Have you seen beautiful things?

  1. Great. The most beautiful thing I’ve seen is when a man or woman stands up for the truth, even though it will cost them to hate their father, mother and children and their own life too. It encourages others to keep fighting too.

  2. Yes yes. This right in front of my eyes is beautiful. And ofcos I have seen one other beautiful thing of the one who thought it not robbery to be equal with God but emptied Himself of all but love that you and I might live.
